Az első kötet 122, a második 156 szövegközti ábrával is illusztrált. A politikus, régész, műgyűjtő grandiózus munkájában összefoglalja az ország földjén élt népek ránk maradt tárgyi emlékeivel kapcsolatos tudnivalókat. Ismerteti többek közt a nagyszentmiklósi kincs darabjait, de érdekes tanulmányt tartalmaz a magyar szent koronáról is.
A két kötet egységes, későbbi félvászon-kötésben, jó állapotban. 268 mm.
