Gilbert Hilton Scribner (1831-1910) amerikai jogász, politikus, New York állam republikánus nemzetgyűlési képviselője, egyben az állam egyik vasúti társaságának elnöke. Geográfiai-éghajlattani értekezése eredetileg a művelt nagyközönség számára szánt természettudományos periodikában, a Popular Science Monthly folyóiratban jelent meg. A címoldalon és a belív egy oldalán régi tulajdonosi bélyegzés. Néhány oldalon aláhúzások, angol nyelvű széljegyzetek, kritikai kommentárok.
Poss.: Gyöngyöshalászy Takách Zoltán [Gyöngyöshalászy Takách Zoltán magyar származású zongoraművész, zongoratanár és zeneszerző.
